Dental implants - what are they and why are they used?

Dental implants are a permanent fixed solution if you are missing one or more teeth, they are most similar to natural teeth and behave like that. The implant is in the form of a titanium screw and is implanted in the jaw bone in the place where the tooth is missing. • Before each implant placement, it is necessary to come for a free specialist examination so that the dentist can suggest an individual therapy plan for the patient.
• Make an appointment for review via the form.
• After the patient decides to have implants, he starts therapy.
• Dental implant placement is performed under local anesthesia, so the procedure is completely painless.
• This routine procedure takes place in 2 stages, and it takes less than 30 minutes to place the implant.
• In phase 1, the implant is placed in the bone in the place where the tooth is missing and is waiting for the implant to integrate with the bone. In some cases, the patient may also get a temporary tooth until the healing process is underway.
• The healing time is individual from patient to patient but generally lasts from 3 to 5 months, but with Straumann SLActive implants the healing time is shorter and lasts an average of 7-8 weeks.
• After the implant merges with the bone, the 2nd phase of the procedure begins. At this stage, a permanent artificial tooth is made, which is completely replaced by both the function and appearance of the natural tooth. This phase from start to finish takes 5 working days.
